Nesting Fever

I have been getting major nesting fever lately. I NEED my own place so I can start letting all of my ideas and visions play out! I've been swooning over refurbished furniture ALOT lately. Definitely been dying to go shop the thrift stores for some old, quirky furniture to give a nice, fresh, colorful coat a paint and some T.L.C. I put together a mood board of some of the things I would love to have in my future home. Would love? I meant WILL have :)

Mom & Daughter Monday.

I had a lovely time with my momma yesterday. We spent the day together out at a new shopping center called Tivoli Village. They built it to look like you're somewhere in Europe. Prettiest place ever! You really feel like you're in a different country!

Before we got our shop on, we went into a little place called Bottle's & Burgers. They serve burgers (obviously), salads, sandwiches and the yummiest southern fries ever! I ordered the Calamari Salad and it was delicious!

After lunch we headed out to see what shops they had to offer (which weren't a whole lot). My favorite store out there though was an accessory shop called Charming Charlie. I didn't get a picture of the place but it. was. amazingggg. You basically shop by color. Everything in the store is in color coded sections. So much fun. Any of you girls who love jewelry would LOVE it. And it's very affordable! After Tivoli Village, we realized we needed a bit more shopping therapy so we headed over to one of my favorite shopping malls called Town Square. They literally have EVERYTHING. H&M, Old Navy, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Mac, Aldo, Bath & Body Works, Bebe, a movie theatre, tons of restaurants, need I go on? It's basically heaven. But while I was there with my mom I came across a new favorite shop! It's a little bath & body shop called Sweet Bubble. It's like a bath shop I've never seen before! They make the most adorable and yummy smelling things!

No, none of it is edible. Although it looks delicious! Everything in this cute little shop seriously is like smelling real sweets. I ended up getting a little pack of "Short Cakes". They're soaps but it comes in a set so you can try a bunch of different ones since they have like 25 different scents.

I just love the concept. Anything cute like this I just die for. After Sweet Bubble, we went over to Victoria's Secret. I ended up getting a new bathing suit and the pink top I'm wearing. As well as some comfy new shorts that were on sale!

And then to end our day, which was extremely hot (100 degrees) we stopped by a little hut called Lollicup where they sell yummy smoothies and drinks. We got a Tropical Breeze. Mmm.

So cute, they seal the top with plastic instead of with a lid! Saves plastic too!

Chambray Season.

I'm late.late.late I know. And a terrible blogger. Just a quick post today! I wanted to post my Friday's (Sunday's..) Fancies before I jet off to work for the day! I'm linking up with AV over at Long Distance Loving for this week's theme; Chambray Season! My little collaboration only includes one little Chambray something but I just adore it! I'd love to have that dress as my own!

This is my type of Chambray. This outfit just screams SPRING! Although it's starting to feel a bit more like summer here.. We've been hitting triple digits! Yuckk..

Guys, I am so sorry for how much I seriously suck at blogging. I haven't blogged in like 2 weeks? I've really been focusing on school especially since it's almost over with! Thank goodness. May 16th I believe is my last day. Unless my professors decide to end Spring Semester a few days early :D

On a happier note, I hit 100 followers recently! I just want to tell you all thank you! I just started this blog in January and am still trying to keep up with posting on a regular basis which I am horrible at right now.

I've also been quite busy with my Design Etsy shop. The business has really picked up and I couldn't be happier about it because it is something that I truly am LOVING! I'm having a monthly special that started yesterday!

This coming month I am going to be running around like crazy guys.. I'm dog sitting for three different people, a couple days of which I will be doing two at a time while also working, going to school and fulfilling orders. Ahhh! I like a good challenge though ;)

Pinners Be Crazy

I came across this site through Arvee over at Flutter Happy just today and was in awe at the things people comment on, on Pinterest! I never thought Pinterest of all places would be a place of hate and negative comments. But IT IS! 

I never thought you could post a picture of a sexy, curvy woman and get people bashing on her, saying she "looks like a hippo" or "she's enormous". Come on people. If you don't like it, then don't look at it! It's that simple! Same thing with an image of tasteful nudity. People "don't want to see that here". Pinterest is a place to pin what YOU are inspired by. It's like a diary or a safe keeping of things you want to go back and look at to be inspired by. If people have a problem with something that YOU pinned on YOUR board, then they shouldn't be following you. Simple as that. 

Go check out this site for yourself. You'll be shocked at the things people say.

Friday's Fancies - Flower Power.

It's officially Spring here in the desert! You can definitely feel it during the day. 80 degree weather, I love you! Although I'm not going to be very happy when it gets any warmer. You see, I'm not a Summer person at all. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pool season and the Summer break from school but it gets HOT here. I'm talking 120 degrees in the middle of July, hot. It's not a good time. You get in your car to go drive 15 minutes with your AC cranked and it will barely be cool by the time you get to your destination. Spring and Fall are definitely my favorite seasons.

How hot does it get where you live? We are lucky though, we don't have that gross humidity. It's a very dry heat,  so you've got to drink like 8 gallons of water a day. It's ridiculous.

Best Movie of 2012 Thus Far

If you haven't seen The Hunger Games yet, you're definitely missing out. When I first heard about the movie I didn't know much at all about it. All I knew is that two kids were selected to go to 'war' and by war I thought of something completely different. My mom had read the book and wanted to go see it so I agreed to go. I was never dying to see it like most people but I knew I'd eventually see it. Man, was it an amazing movie or WHAT!? I was literally on the edge of my seat. You NEED to go see this movie if you haven't already. I'm going to start the second book this week hopefully, when I find the time. I didn't read the first book but my mom said that it follows the movie to a T. The second book is called Catching Fire and once you see the movie, you'll know why they named it that.

Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday!

It's Wednesday again! I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going by. It's my Spring Break and it has been nice so far. I haven't done anything worth talking about really. I was dying to go hiking up at Red Rock (a national recreational park here in town) today but my boyfriend had to meet up with some classmates to do a project. :( What kind of teacher assigns homework over Spring Break? Hopefully we will be going on Friday instead after I get off work, which I'm hoping to get off early around 2! I'll be sure to take lots of pretty pictures :D 

My inspiration for this week's Oh, How Pinteresting! is Coral & Aqua. I've been seriously obsessed with these colors lately. Every time I go out shopping I am drawn to this color combo.

Oh, How Pinteresting! [5]

I've been dying to get back into the Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday posts! My life has been a roller coaster of crazy events! You know, just the usual school, work, boyfriend, and then the little but tedious things like keeping up with laundry, keeping my bedroom and bathroom clean (because you know how out of control those get being a girl with too many clothes..) My inspiration today is pretty clothes! Since I'll be shopping today :D (like I really need too.. my closet is overflowing..) But what girl can have too many clothes right? Especially since it's basically Spring! I'm absolutely loving this warm weather we're getting. Although it's making me nervous for Summer.. I live in like one of the hottest places on the Earth it seems. Where Summers get up to 120 degrees. Not fun. You can't even leave your house!  Anyway, my pins today have consisted of the long knee-length skirt/dress belted outfit! I'm so in love with this look that I'm hoping to find some clothing like these while shopping today!

Friday's Fancies #5 - Spring Break!

I am so excited to be back & doing a Friday's Fancies! I'm linking up with AV over at Long Distance Loving! This weeks theme is Spring Break! I am so excited for Spring Break. One more week! I NEEED a little break from classes. They've been driving me crazy.. I feel like I have no time for anything else! Anyway, here is my collaboration for Spring Break :)

I'm Still Alive!

Wow. February was exhausting. I really haven't blogged since February 11th?! I can't believe I'm actually finding the time to blog right now! Let me just explain how busy I've been. Right before WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International Convention) came along, I started to run around with my head cut off (not literally, hahaha). I had a couple events that I attended, Valentines Day was fun, then my friend from Virginia came home to visit (she's in the Navy) and my bestfriend was leaving to go into the Air Force (military sucks :( ) then WPPI happened and it changed my life! And not in just one way. I got about 4- 6 hours of sleep every night the week they were in town. It took a toll on my body. I'm still surprised I didn't end up getting sick. Especially because Ally and I did nothing but drink a whole lot of Starbucks! Anyway..

If you are a photographer or aspiring to be one, you NEED, I repeat NEED to attend next year. I am telling you.. you will walk away, mind blown. I can't wait until next year already! Here is how WPPI works. It's a 5-7 day photography convention where you attend Platform Classes where world class photographers teach, explain their stories and give you the motivation you need to become a great photographer! It is the biggest photography convention ever. Ally and I attended 2-3 classes daily. I gained SO much knowledge that I will never forget. On the second day they opened the tradeshow part of the convention, which is the most fun but the most exhausting. Thousands of vendors are there with their booths. Vendors such as printing/lab companies, videographer companies, backdrop and prop companies, and so many more. I honestly can't even go into detail because there's just SO much.

While we were there, a new 'Sugar Factory' opened up! I was so excited. If any of you are familiar with the Kardashian's, you'll know that they're like obsessed. Anyway, got me some candy which I'm currently eating still :)

After WPPI, Arica (my boss) held another workshop at the studio. Two of them actually. They took place the Saturday & Sunday after WPPI. One was a Photography 101 workshop & the second one was a workshop focused on Pet Photography and the skills you need to photograph pets! She did so good, we all had so much fun.

On top of all that, I was trying to balance school and Jimmy and both of my Etsy shops. But I managed. Just felt really crazy! My Bauble Stones Etsy shop is picking up and I couldn't be happier! It's like owning my own business and being my own boss. It's like a second job and I LOVE IT! Since the last time that I blogged, I have listed my Custom Photo Necklaces in my shop! Here are a couple examples.

I wear mine everyday! I absolutely love it. I want to make like 10 of them for myself haha. I also have a couple more of the Bird Nest Necklaces posted as well.

Now that I'm not as busy with everything, hopefully I can get back into the swing of things! I've missed Instagram Tuesdays, Oh How Pinteresting! Wednesdays, & Friday's Fancies! See you all tmrw!
