My New Crazy Busy Life.

So, since Friday when I went out and tried finding another job, my mind has been running around like a crazy person. The good news is that I got another job! I walked into Buffalo Wild Wings, filled out an application and was hired right on the spot! I couldn't believe it! I told the manager that I initially wanted a job as a server or bartender but he said since I had no experience in either of those things, I wouldn't be able to be hired for those positions. So, he said I needed to start at the bottom and work my way up. So, I got hired as a hostess. After I master the micros system and the ways of the restaurant, I'll move on up to serving and make triple the tips ;)

Anyway, now I will be working two jobs. The studio in the mornings/early afternoon and BWW at night. Besides now having two jobs, I am taking two classes. Both are Graphic Design classes so I have a feeling they'll be taking a lot of my time.

On top of all that, I'm moving out soon. My boyfriend's bestfriend just got accepted for the loan he's taking out for a house and I'm moving in with them in a little over a month. I'm SO excited but a little nervous about juggling work, classes, trying to pay for all the things I'm going to have to pay for and then maintaining a happy boyfriend. I've never lived anywhere else but my parents, so paying rent is going to be very new to me. I know I'll be able to afford it though now that I have another job.

What scares me most I think is not having time for anything but school and work. I'm going to have class Monday's and Wednesday's 12-1:50pm and then a 6-9:30pm class on Monday's. Thursday-Sunday I'll be at the studio in the morning and depending on the days I take at BWW, I'll probably work Tuesday-Saturday. A little crazy I know. My boyfriend I think is sad and even scared of my schedule. But I just need to learn to juggle a crazy life and I think it will be a good learning experience.

Well, school started today and it kind of overwhelmed me. I'm taking two Graphic Design classes like I said earlier. One is Design Fundamentals and the other is Rendering & Illustration. I definitely thought they were computer graphic classes. I was WRONG. They're both classes that involve pencils, paint, rulers, scissors, etc. The material list for both classes is L--O--N--G. She said for one of the classes it would only cost no more than $30. I went to Joann's tonight to pick up some of the supplies.. one of the pads of paper I needed was $20! I was like, ummm.. greatttt. My boyfriend was with me and helped me think about if I really wanted to take both classes right now and spend all of that money. Not to mention all the drawings and assignments I'd take on at once with two classes. So I went home and dropped my Rendering & Illustration class, kept my Design Fundamentals and grabbed the Layout & Typography class (which is a computer graphics class) I had originally planned on taking.

Wish me luck on this long journey I'm about to embark on!

Are you in school? I'd love to know if any of you are going through the same thing or went through it before and how you got through it!

First of all, Congrats on the new job! I hope you get lots and lots of free wings! Nom nom nom. And secondly, buying art supplies is SO expensive! I usually spend at least $200 each semester on everything...So. Not. Cool. Haha.

Congrats on getting a second job! You can totally make your schedule do-able. It's probably going to be challenging at first, but you'll learn to manage your time. I lived on my own the whole 5 years it took me to do my undergrad, and it was a struggle at times taking between 16-20 units and working and trying to pay bills and such, while finding time for my boyfriend and friends. It's hard but not impossible! I'm rooting for you!!!

Congrats on getting the job! That's amazing that you just got hired right on the spot. And with you being a hostess it will allow you to get comfortable with the way the whole thing operates before jumping right in and waiting tables. You are going to be a busy, busy gal!
